Prism MK6
The MK6 Prism features a wide selection of metal and composite panels bonded to a 3D printed PETG frame. It also features the Prisms signature snap fit rear panel and internal cable harness. Laser cut acrylic bottom panels and countersunk screws ensure stability and comfort no matter the surface.
Every Prism is built and tested by hand using professionally assembled PCBs
Repairability
All parts of the MK6 can be replaced by the user with a single screwdriver! The Pi Pico is also replaceable by hand with no soldering or disassembly required thanks to its header and socket design. Heat set threaded inserts allow for secure and repeated mounting of all components.
The enclosures metal panels can be replaced in house, and full enclosures, PCB’s or any other replacement part are made readily available upon request!
(Panels can be replaced by the end user, but it is quite challenging and not advised for anyone who wouldn’t feel comfortable fixing a laptop or a smart phone. The adhesives, materials, and methods used are similar.)
Functionality
The lowest possible latency and widest compatibility is ensured in console and USB modes with the 133Mhz ARM Cortex processor found in the Raspberry Pi Pico.
Support for Gamecube, Switch, and PC are built in. Further console functionality can be enabled using a Brooks Wingman USB stick for consoles like PS4 and new Xboxes.
The pico can also be removed and replaced with a Brooks UFB by using commonly available dupont jumper wires.
Guides for all of this will be made available in the future, in the mean time feel free to reach out for support or reassurance in setting up additional console functionality. There are also members of the Discord who are always glad to help.
Featured Components
Kailh hot swap PCB’s
Raspberry Pi Pico
Kailh Super Speed Silver (With maximum O-rings)
Textured PBT XDA ands DSA keycaps
Internally mounted USBC combo port
USBC-GCC cable and rapid internal cable harness.
Ergonomic Benefits
The Prism represents a new generation of ergonomics for digital fight pad users.
Based on the b0xx layout by Hax$, the prism re-engineers the locations, angles, and spacing of the right and left action clusters. They are rotated distally along the roll axis, inward on the yaw axis, and forward in pitch. This eliminates the need for ulnar deviation and forearm pronation, two of the most common postural causes of RSI (repetitive stress injuries).
Additionally, the spacing and relative position of the keys allows users to relax their fingers into a natural curled position; this further reduces strain, and helps improve reaction times. The close spacing and mixed keycap choices allows the entire thumb to activate the 5 button action cluster with minimal movement and while maintaining optimum posture.
These thoroughly tested alterations provide a superior ergonomic experience to traditional flat digital fight-pads or “rectangles”. Ask any of our many satisfied customers on the Discord or look at our reviews to see what has everyone talking!
Or just take it from some of Melee’s best digital players and Prism team members; Chef, Swift, and Joey Donuts.
